What do you think about Iraq's fate?

What do you think our elected leaders will do with Iraq?

1) More troops - becoming increasingly difficult politically and mathmatically. We don't have unlimited supply of troops. This can also give wrong impression to other axis of evil countries.
2) Accept defeat - very highly unlikely not only bececause it will be humiliating but it can knock down America's global stance. We have to protect American pride.
3) Divide Iraq into three regions (Sunnis, Shiite, Kurdish) - More than likely this is what we'll do to Iraq. It has best chance of stabilizing Iraq with least bloodshed and with least time. It will also protect American pride.

Americans have no say in whether or not Iraq divides into federal states or remains under a strong centralized government. That is for the Iraqis to decide. They need to take responsibility for their economy, politics and especially security as soon as possible. Unfortunately, American troops will be there a loooooong time as the government tries to sort itself out. Now that it's a case of factions in Iraq targeting each other, the United States need to tread carefully and try not to play favourites among Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds. Our job is to help the Iraqi government take care of itself.

I believe Iraq's fate will ultimately depend on the Iraqi people, no matter what the US does. We tried and are still trying to help them, but what they do with this help rests on their shoulders. I do not believe Iraq will be divided however - I think that would be a bad move for everyone involved.

The Iraqis need to start running their government and making some good hard decisions that will represent all tribes of that nation.
