I'm a teenaged girl that writes in her free time. I mostly write fanfiction and it tends to lean towards the homosexual couples in the shows.
What I want to know is if America is ready for a gay romance novel? I mean Gays need romance novels too!
What's your opinion?

Lots of gay romance novels already exist; check on Amazon.com. They just aren't as mainstream as straight romance novels, since there are fewer gay people than straight people. It's not so much whether America is ready for one, but whether you want to spend your time writing something that relatively few people will read. I don't think many straight people will pick up a gay romance novel, so that will severely limit your sales.

Honey they are way ahead of you. There were homosexual romance novels in the 40's and 50's but they had to be bought "underground". Today they are everywhere
