I was wrong and I admit it...I said the St, Louis Cardinals in 6!

Man for man, the Cards had the better team. Rolen was hitting line drives down the third base line. Puhols was being Puhols, great on defense and hitting the long ball. So Taguchi was a big surprise and Yadier Molina called perfect games from behind the plate.

The MVP for the playoff season, Placido Polanco was not that impressive and the Tigers pitching and base running was not impressive.

The NY Mets would have beaten the Detroit Tigers the way the Tigers played. One thing was proven, the American League is not so dominant, after all. Tony LaRussa did a great job.

I would have left Jeff Weaver in for the final outs in the 5th game of the World Series. But, I understand the need to put in Adam Wainwright to get Wainwright some experience after the regular season and give Weaver his due as the winning pitcher after all he did in that final game.

All in all, I think the Detroit Tigers could have put up a better game. The Tigers just weren't in it. Very lax!

Yes, I knew they could win but whether they would or not was the story. I knew if they wanted it more than the Tigers, they would win. I think a couple of things jump started them. Spiezio and the little controversy between Rolen and LaRussa. I'm a Cards fan and after the game I knew someone would come up with the comment, "The Cards didn't win, the Tigers lost." I believe that is wrong. They won. No matter how the media spins it, they won.

Before Game 1 I held my breath a tiny bit from all the hype about the 'Tigers this' and 'Tigers that'. Then we spanked the Tigers in 1, and completly shut them out in Game 3. From then on I knew we were going to put on one hell of a show.

I really thought the Tigers would come on real hard tonight in 5...I didn't see the aggression and strength they had in Game 2. I thought maybe they were holding it back for 7th inning or so and it would be too late for us to catch up. But nope.

I thought the Cards could win when I started watching their game at the beginning of the Series. Shame on you for not the least bit of faith! The Cards have a lot of sincerity and all play well together. I'm so happy for the whole team, and for us as a city.

We'll be back again next year and I think we'll be respected. : )

I have to admit even after making them my pre-season choice to win it all, that after the first month I had serious doubts. As the playoff seedings were determined, I felt that the Mets and Tigers were going to compete for the World Series. My congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals entire organization. They certainly know how to run a baseball franchise unlike a certain "professional" team here in Philly. Rejoice, Cardinal fans !!!
