I have been very emotional these past few days and today I called my parent's house and dad answered the phone and i just started crying. He asked me what was wrong and I just told him that the baby has been sick and things like that but he kept asking if that was all that was wrong. Well, I didn't want to tell him everything so I just thought I would tell him that I thought my husband was being a little impatient with me lately (although I know I have been emotional so its partly my fault). And he asked for specific reasons and the first thing I thought of was that he makes me wear diapers on long car trips because he is too impatient to stop to go to the bathroom for me. After I said it I couldn't believe I did. I had been so exhausted that it slipped out. Well my dad was shocked and talked with me some about it and then asked to speak to my husband. My husband was polite with him and told him that yes he did but it was more for my sake than his because I need to go to the....

bathroom a lot. I think that smoothed some things over but my dad still was a little bit unhappy with it all. My husband told me after he hung up that I was in big trouble for telling him that. I know this Thanksgiving we are supposed to go to my parents and I think it might be a little awkward now. How do I make things better?

And yes I KNOW it was my fault and I should never bring my marriage problems to my dad or mom. I know what I did was wrong. I just need advice to make things better.

You can't patch things. Here's the thing, your husband is a control freak. You have been emotional because you have no one to talk to other than your husband.

If you were my child and I found out about something like that, your husband would have my foot up his a**.

Your husband humiliates you. His reason for not stopping at a restroom are crazy. I bet he doesn't wear depends.

The only reason you told your dad is because you wanted someone else to know what you are experiencing at that hands of your husband.

Sweetie, your parents raised you. You obviously don't need another father in your life. Your husband needs some professional help and sadly so do you if you think that he does these things for your benefit.

I agree with your parents. But like I said, you can't fix this. Only your husband can. The only reason he has told you that you are in trouble is because NOW someone else knows that what he is doing to you or has done to you is wrong.

Why is your husband MAKE you do anything?
Sounds like you may need to talk to someone, and do kiegle excercises! They are the muscles in your vagina wall that you use to help you stop urinating or relax them and you begin urinating. When a woman has a baby these muscles are obviously stretched and need to be excersised back into shape .
Have you found that after you had your baby you went to the bathroom more? and couldn't hold it? this is the reason why.
So that's a solution to wearing depends...

the other issue I see is that perhaps your husband controls you? I am concerned because you say your husband makes you wear depends. that is not only humilating and degrating at your age but also if you protest, what happens? does he forcibly put them on you?
You should not have to take the blame for things that go on all the time in your household. This concerns me, and It may be beneficial for you to talk to a therapist. You both clearly have issues that are better addressed in a safe environment that is private.

Why would you want to patch things with this sick abusing husband?

Why SHOULDN'T you talk to your mom or dad about marriage problems? They should be your closest confidantes and allies!

As for your husband, he sounds like a sick and controlling sorry excuse for a man. Why in the world would you put up with that?! The day my husband tells me to wear a diaper because he's not stopping for me to pee is the day he finds all his belongings out on the front lawn along with the locks changed when he comes home from work. Not only is your husband disrespectful of you and your feelings but he is mentally and emotionally abusing you by making you go back down to the level of an infant. What a sick-o! And he says he does this for YOUR sake? Did you ASK if you can wear a diaper? Does he hold you down and diaper you like a baby? I tell you what. I would wear nothing and pee on his car seats if he refused to stop for me. That is just sick, sick SICK!!!!

KICK HIM TO THE CURB!!!!

ARE YOU SERIOUS? If so, you do need help. Sounds like your husband has issues and needs some help too. Sounds as if you love him very much. Does he hit you? Sounds like the kinda man who could. I've been there and it can be better. This is a problem (not just the diaper). You and your husband are supposed to be best friends, a team, love should not make you feel uncomfortable, sad and it definetly is'nt supposed to hurt. One more thing, do you feel humiliated wearing the diaper and does he wear one too? Maybe you could carry a coffee can with a lid and use it as a toilet. Good Luck!

Honey...this is just wrong in SO many ways. I don't care if you have to stop every 30 miles to go to the bathroom, your husband should be "patient" enough to not make this a problem. I like to drink soda in the car on long trips, which makes me need to use the bathroom a little more often than most people I think, but my husband would NEVER and I mean NEVER even suggest that I wear adult diapers so that we don't have to stop so often (unless of course he was COMPLETELY kidding).

About your actual question...I think that it might be a good thing that your husband feels a little uncomfortable during Thanksgiving dinner, maybe it will make him think twice about his inconsiderate and impatient behavior. Lots of people say that you shouldn't "air your dirty laundary" about your marriage to your family, but the fact that it just "slipped out" because you were frazzled says something about your feelings on the subject. You know that your husband is being unreasonable in your heart. Fix your marriage and your relationship with your family will be fine, your dad just cares about you, that's all (and sounds like he handled hearing about your husband making you wear diapers MUCH better than my father would have! )

i think that your husband is wrong for making you were a diaper and you are wrong for doing it. i don't care how many stops he has to make, it obviously makes you feel bad or else it wouldn't have been the first thing out of your mouth. however, your dad was wrong for speaking with your husband about the situation. you are a married woman and what goes on between you and your husband is your business. naturally your dad is upset. he loves and cares for you. yes thanksgiving will be akward, but go and try to have a normal time. ask your dad not to bring it up and explain to him that the next time (if there is a next time) you confide in him to keep it on the hush.

Either you are joking with us or you are married to one sicko dude.

If you pee frequently you might have a bladder or kidney infection or something called Institual Cystitis, You need to see a doctor .

You also need to see a family counselor or therapits becasue your husband it nuts. And you are blamming yourself, .It seems he has stripped you of your self esteem.

You best get live in order or expect many misserable years. Your dad loves you and KNOWS that what your husband does to you is way beyond anything normal or acceptable.
You are way more worthy of better care from the man you have married and you know it, this is why you cry so much. You know that you are being verbally and emotionallly abused. This is worse than being beaten.

Believe me, I was married to a man who verbally and emotionally abused me. And I finally got out of the insanity and now that I look back I wonder how I ever surrived it.

Get some help soon

Jeez, your husband makes you wear a diaper instead of stopping to go to the loo!? I would be livid with anger too if i was your father or mother.

The fact is your husband is treating you like a child. And adults dont wear friggin nappies. If my husband did that to me or even mentioned it i would leave him on the spot. I bet if you were the one driving and you wanted him to wear nappies he wouldnt let you put it on him.

Your husband was only thinking about himself and not you. Impatience will get him nowhere. Making you sit in your own filth until you get to your next stop is degrading. And i hope you wake up to the fact that your husband is a tool.

As for your Dad. Good on him!

Sweetie, a man who "makes" you wear anything is not a man that you need. It sounds like your husband has some serious control issues. First of all, refuse the diaper, you are not a child and he can stop and let you use the bathroom. I suggest serious counseling IMMEDIATLY, the desire to control someone to the point of needing to control their bathroom activities is pretty severe. I am not kidding with you or over reacting, this is serious. I can see why your father is so angry, he is probably scared for you and your child. This is a warning sign, worse things are coming if he does not get help. This is not you, this is him, please for you and your child get help!
