same reason blacks weren't accepted

people exclude people and stereotype them because they're different in some way instead of getting to know them. even though it was obvious that blacks were good people, people were blind to that because they thought as a group instead of finding out the truth for themselves.

In societies not controlled by Biblical fundies they are. Anthropologically, homosexuality was the norm not the exception. Same-gender sexuality has been accepted world-wide in any society that didn't hate sexuality in general, and also feel a need to make men ashamed of being men. In all warrior societies world wide, men loved their fellow warrior men, that is how it was, in Europe in Rome, Sparta, and Thebes, in Asia among the Persians, the Pathans, and the Samurai, in Africa and in both Americas, warriors revered and sexualized masculinity, that has been the way of the world. The U.S. is the exception, not the rule.

There are many reasons. Most world religions describe homosexuality as an abomination.

personally i accept any one, we should forgive everyone for their faults, especially in something like the christian faith, god loves all right, so he loves the sinner not the sin, the world is full of diversity all we need to do is accept it, homosexuals are accepted wer'e just getting used to them like a pair oif new shoes theres always something about them that makes them a lil uncomfortable at first

They are accepted by those who are comfortable with their own sexuality. Those who are not comfortable, are those who dont understand. The only thing that makes them differet is who they choose to be their spouse, but since it really has NOTHING to do with you, there should never be a problem with it. It cannot affect you in any way. You cant catch they "gay" disease and turn gay, it a choice.

So i think it is more about being scared and insecure. Those who love themselves and worry about their own lives wont be concerned about who their neighbor sleeps with.

Besides, there is no 1 "perfect" living person in this world

because there are still a lot of close-minded, ignorant people in this world who refuse to accept anyone different...whether it's their sexual orientation, race, religion or culture, some people are always going to find anyone different to be inferior (perhaps it's because THEY are really inferior?)

Depends on who you ask. I am Catholic and see it as a sin of the flesh. God did not create one gender, He created two so we could have relations for love and reproduction. A male and female physically "fit" together, anal sex isn't natural, that's where poop comes out of. I see homosexuality as a temptation put into the minds of people that Satan sees as weak and Satan makes it looks good and self-pleasurable (like he does with all sinful actions; he is the father of lies) and people easily just give in to self pure pleasure to satisfy their physical needs. And society over the past 50 years has changed it to a different form so we are all to tolerate this sin and look away from it. Being attracted to the same sex isn't a sin, but acting out on that lust is. Like addictions to drugs, smoking, drinking, watching porn, swearing, these are all things that give us self pleasure and all lead to bad consequences for ourselves and to others around us.

I know many will hate me for this opinion but this is what I think about it and I tend to think that God is right all the time, so since He says sodomy is a sin, it's a sin in my mind.

People fear what they do not understand. It's a sad fact of human nature.
