Personally, i was a little disappointed with Eckstein getting it. He is a great player, and had a great series. But when you consider the offensive series that Molina had, and with that the work he did with the pitching staff, I would have thought it was a no-brainer. It seems to me, to win the MVP, you have to play great in the final game (Eckstein, Dye...) I guess people have short memories.

Eckstein is a scrappy little dude with lots of guts. He really hauled @ss for the team.
If they could give another MVP though I think Molina was a solid backbone for the team. Really.
Carpenter...his pitching alone!
Too hard to choose.
Sure - we'll go with Eckstein. He really played with everything he had and I'm sure it was a tough choice among a few others.

There were several key consistent players. There were only a couple players that I thought WOULDN'T have earned an MVP.

All in all I am so proud of the entire team, and don't really care about the MVP title.

In order to get the MVP you have to play your best during the entire series. Molina was really on top of his game but come on Eckstein was the most consistant player and he played with his whole heart. I agree I thought Molina would get it BUT I am not sad that Eckstein did he is a great player that gave his all for the team and he deserves to be recognized for that. I was just glad it went to a player for their ability and not name. No matter who got it THE CARDINALS WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get over it - Eckstein was great. And not just in Game 5 - he was a deciding factor in the Series.

Are you a friend of Molina's? I don't think many people would agree with you.

Eckstein is older and won't play as long as Molina will. Molina will get his later on if he keeps playing the he has.

David Eckstein is the hart and soul of the Cardinals

Derek Jeter.

No matter what, this would be the answer from NYC and Yankee fans.

Otherwise, Molina wouldn't be a bad choice.

But I'm sure Jeter deserved it more, right? After all, he plays in New York. Isn't that worth more than a little ole World Series Ring?

Weaver deserved it. But Eckstein deserved it a little

I guessed it right away that Eckstein would get it. He really came through for us on several occasions in the past few games and was instrumental in our victories.

Molina is always awesome...but Eckstein really came through when we needed him.

YEAH CARDINALS!!!!!!!!!!!
