Don't run it anymore till you get it fixed.
Drain or siphon all the contaminated fuel from the tank. Replace it with good gasoline. Start and run it for a little bit at low engine RPM. It should be good to go after that.

here is what u do hopefuly u didnt run or drive the car to long and the car still runs now. the good thing is that u didnt hurt the motor at all and the people who say u did dont know anything about cars how about an education first then the repair. diesel ignites off of high compression not spark like a car high compression usually in the neighborhood of 19-25:1 in the cylinder ur car has about 8.5-9.5:1 very low not high or hot enough to ignite diesel fuel and the spark of the spark plug isnt hot enough either to ignite diesel so dont worry worst case scenario u need to replace fuel filter, pump, and injector o-rings and anyother rubber gas component as diesel can make rubber swell but will not harm the motor because the car will NOT RUN. if the car runs u dont have that much diesel in the system yet. but here is what u do go buy a fuel injection pressure test kit one that has a optional volume valve. find the fuel pump relay and remove then using a test light find terminal 30 using a jumper wire jump 30 to terminal 87 as it will automatically activate the fuel pump key must be on and ull need a battery charger on 2A setting to maintain battery while the process continues then using the pressure kit hook it up to the fuel rail then aim the volume hose to a bucket open the valve and wait til empty then go get 5 gal fresh gas good to go pray nothing leaks as fas as the rubber seals go take car to have fuel filter removed. BY THE WAY HOW DID U MANAGE TO PUT A DIESEL FUEL PUMP NOSEL IN UR GAS TANK AS THE NOSEL IS ONE INCH BIG AND THE GAS IS 3/4 OF AN INCH AND WILL NOT FIT IN ANY GAS TANK MADE AFTER 1975 WHEN EMISSIONS HIT R U SURE U HAVE DIESEL IN THERE hope this helps

Drain ur tank. A valve is provided at the lower end of the tank which is used to drain the fuel. Now clean the carburettor so that there is no residue of the diesel left in it. Now put some gasoline directly into the carburettor and start the engine with low RPM. Also remove the diesel from the delivery pipe. Now fill in the gasolene and start the engine and keep it start for a few minutes. Now go ahead and enjoy ur drive. All the best.

well, just the tank problem should be solved by your friend's suggestion, i would not pay 400 just for that... but all the bad fuel in the system, at the engine, is what would worry me more i dont think anything would be harmed (which is not already) if you syphon the diesel and try to run it for a while, it might run bad, but it should start running better and better after a while also contact the dealer and ask if anything can be harmed by what happened cfireman 's answer above is very good, i would do that and your car should run just fine on your 2nd tank of gas good luck

Well Done!! if the diesel has gone through you fuel system (did you try to start it?) then the fuel filter will have to be changed, you should also drain the tank & clear the fuel lines & injectors or take it to a mechanic. short term just drain the tank, fill it with unleaded & keep turning it over until it starts. might be a bit smoky at the begining but it will clear. goodluck..

drain fuel ln tank from bottem of tank or at fuel line, tighten fuel line and or plug on bottom of tank, fill half way with gas, it will run and smoke for a while until it burns out diesel, fill with gas and put injector cleaner in tank, don't put diesel in tank again,it should run ok after that, if not put more injector cleaner infuel.

go to Wal-Mart and buy a siphon pump, stick the hose as far down in the tank as you can get it.. pump the diesel out..put high octane in run it out.. at the first sign of bogging down or high RPM's take your foot out of the Go maker. If it hollers when you shut her down let it run out...Good luck..it still isn't as bad as putting gas in a diesel. Quit driving drunk!!

yeah you are gonna have to drain that tank....don't run it at all until it is drained. A small amount won't hurt anything but over about a half gallon will wreck your engine.
