native americans are regarded as sovergn nations by the us government, to some extent.

for the most part on the reservations they regulate themselves and follow their own laws. to some extent.

the govenrment will not give them complete control of their lives yet,

Only to those members of the tribe involved in commerce with the U.S. population in general. Those choosing to live exclusively on a reservation and so restrict their trade are soverign nationals unto themselves... NOT subject to UCC.

LOTS of case law there...
