BAGHDAD: AP OCtober 28, 2006 Iraq's Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said he thought that Iraqi troops, left to their own devices, could re-establish order in Iraq in six months, not the 12 to 18 months that top U.S. commander Gen. William Casey had predicted Tuesday.
I imagine he would not say this if he didn't believe it could be done. Why not either get out or stay completely out of line of fire and let the Iraqis take care of their own. Civil war you say? What could possibly be worse than it is now. AND it would save an unnecessary loss of American troop lives
