I love to listen to his press briefings on c-span. He sounds totally loopy a lot of times, but i think it's the best he can do to cover this mass of war crimes. The best is when a reporter asks him a question, then he says - no, a better way to ask that question is this...... and then he proceeds to answer the question he makes up. And that's it for the reporter's time.
My father was personally chewed out by Rumsfeld in the 70s. Dad said Rumsfeld was a schmuck who not only took the time to yell and curse at dad, but made trouble for my dad up the chain of command for an incident that happened in the war room involving.... new phone lines and a misdirected 'check the lines' call at 3 a.m.
He clearly hasn't improved any.

Why are liberals so clueless? Rumsfield is not the VP as Old gringo seems to think.
Rumsfield was CEO of Searle Pharmaceuticals if I remember correctly. He is far from incompetent. The task he has is not just the war on two fronts but transforming the military to protect against the threats we face now and in the future. The cold war MAD format was outdated. He is intense and does not suffer fools nor incompetency. So crazy? No. Going postal? No. He is very cool under extreme demands and competent to get the job done.

I think he told the news reporter the truth and caught them in a lie about Iraq and went after it. I am glad he did it, it showed that the news people twist a question to make any answer look bad and when people don't play thier game the news person don't know what to do

He's been in the politics game too long. He won't give a definite answer to questions and just side steps without really saying anything.

Rumsfeld is brilliant. I am his biggest fan. He doesn't mince words. I wish I expressed myself as eloquently and acerbic as he does.
He is one of the world's busiest men in a tough, exhausting job. And he handles it. What do you mean by postal?
