1. In an investigation, why would you touch a charged balloon with your hands?

my inferences: to check if it is charged.

2. What would happen if you rubbed two identical objects together?

my inferences: they would repel because they both contain the same type of charges and therefore they would not be attracted.

2. nothing would happen. Static electricity works because there's a net TRANSFER of charge between two objects; one become negative, the other becomes positive. With identical objects you cannot get a net transfer and you cannot make them both positive, because that implies that something else has be made negative, and there is nothing else in the system.
