I thought McCarver was a great announcer when I was a kid. I was still learning the game then. As time has progeressed, my understanding of the game has surpassed the narrative exploits of Mr. McCarver. McCarver is great in interviews about his past. He's got great stories about the World Series he played in during the 60's. He just doesn't seem interested in anyone else. Fox wants them to dumb it down for the casual fan.
Joe Buck isn't much better either. Daddy's reputation can only take you so far. Did anyone elelse pick up on the disappointment in his voice as each New York team was eliminated this year? What is his infatuation with the Big Apple?
VIn Scully doesn't do full games and we lost Jack Buck years ago.
Jon Miller and Joe Morgan should broadcast every imoprtant baseball game until the end of time. Each could easily qualify as the best TV caller. Together, they got perfect chemistry.
Harold Reynolds is great for kids and coaches because he breaks down plays and explains what is going on. Steve Stone is allright too. He used to have to explain everything for Harry Carray.

McCarver used to be one of the best. Now he just likes to hear the sound of his own voice

Tim McCarver makes Pat Summerall seem smart.
McCarver is a drooling fool that stumbles over names like FOX is paying him to butcher those names.

No, remember a couple of years ago, Red Sox vs. Yankees, Big Papi hit a homerun and his call was "Mt. Everest erupts again!"

He's old and too full of himself. If he was as smart as he thinks he is, he would have been managing, not announcing.
