I am 22 years old, just about to finish University, i have been seeing this guy. We had unprotected sex (it was day after my monthlys), we knew what we were doing and thats fine. I know chances are slim but still possible that i could be pregnant. Anyway this morning i woke up and was bleeding, my period isnt due for another two n half weeks, (i am always regular, on time, and it lasts roughly four days) so this is quite unusual. i have been feeling quite funny lately, cramps, etc....not sure what is going on. I have a home pregnancy test but i know its too early to take that. My partner lives three hours away, so I am dealing with this on my own, im rather stressed and scared. What should i do? I want to talk to my family, but also feel best waiting until i know for sure if something is wrong, i hate worrying people for no reason.

Others are correct in suggesting that you wait to be sure of a pregnancy before alarming your family; however, if you have an understanding and supportive family, I'm sure there won't be too much harm in talking to them about this issue. Nevertheless, you can also speak to close friends about your worries if you haven't done so already.
Are you experiencing heavy or light bleeding? Important question because the bleeding is much lighter and shorter in duration during pregnancy especially during the first trimester (normal) than during regular cycles of menstruation.
It is possible that you were ovulating around the time you had intercourse and conceived a couple of days later resulting in implantation bleeding. Another possibility is that you may be experiencing some hormonal changes that is responsible for irregular periods. Remember that cramping is a normal effect of menstral period.
Other indicators of bleeding may be: etopic pregnancy, cervical changes (increase blood flow during pregnancy resulting in light bleeding), miscarriage (15-20% of known cases), molar pregnancy (abnormal mass instead of a baby), trauma or tear in the vaginal wall not related to pregnancy,
Also, if you do experience bleeding for 14 days, it is advisable that you seek the help of your physician.

I am also 22 and I will be finishing college in May, hopefully. In August, I found out that I was pregnant with twins and I am due on my graduation day, lol. I didn't tell my family until I was absolutely positive that I was pregnant. I am also very very regular and I just knew I was before I even missed my period.
I would wait until you are supposed to get your period, see if it comes or not, and take a test.
But, sometimes if you are pregnant, you can experience implantation bleeding or depending how far along you actually are (if you are pregnant) you could be experiencing a miscarriage or some other problem.
I would definitely schedule an appointment with the gyno at least too.
I hope everything turns out well for you.

you shouldnt tell your family until you know for sure. You could be experiencing implantation bleeding, or just some stress. Even though you have very normal and regular periods you can have an off one every now and then..its also very normal. I wish I could tell you that everything is okay but the only thing you can do is wait and take a test, or you can get a blood test done..which can tell 3-5 days after ovulation. Good luck and I hope that everything works out for you!

I wouldn't tell my parents anything right now until you find out for sure that you are even pregnant. I know i worried myself to death when me and my husband had sex the day after mine (period) but i didn't get pregnant.
You can take a pregnancy test 19 days from the day you think you became pregnant.
A blood test will show you are pregnant 6-7 days after conception.
Go to http://www.peeonastick.com and read more about pregnancy testing.
Good luck and stop worrying!!!

Well if your bleeding regularly then chances are your not pregnant. You could just be having an early period. But if you are in pain then go to the emergency and have it checked out. Otherwise, wait another week or so and get a preg. test just to be sure. Dont say anything to your family if your not sure yet.

Does the university you attend have a student health care center? Seek help there first. They can provide you with free or low cost medical attention. It's the best place to get what you need in a private manner. Don't tell your family just yet. I'm concerned for you because you mentioned you are bleeding. Get medical attention immediately!! It's for your own safety.

you have a while. Wait until you actually miss a period, then take a test when you are suppost to. You don't have to tell anyone yet, and I wouldn't.
