DNA testing is very complicated. It must be done in a special lab. There are very few labs which can handle this. It isn't like the fiction on television where they do it in an hour at the police lab.

Sure, many DNA tests these days can be performed in a doctor's office's affiliated lab. It's just a question of have the right chemicals, for the most part. The difficulty comes in buying the chemicals for a single use, which would be absurdly expensive.

The type of test is critical. Simple antigen tests are done in a simple lab. Doing a paternity test would require equipment that also could be purchased, but the cost for a single test would be even more absurd.

No, you can use a punnet square to predict your offsprings. But they need your DNA to test. They need it because your genes, and heriditary information are in them. They need them for accurate tests. They cant just test your DNA without a sample if they didnt have it there would be nothing to do ,so its very important to go in labs. They get a blood sample and your DNA is in it. You even leave DNA everywhere you go so they can also get your DNA that way.

No way! It's DNA you're talking about here... that's some really advanced technology needed to do that, even for a hospital.
