I'm not looking for anything specific, just an example. I'm thinking something along the lines where a human changes into a wolf or some other animal like that. Got any ideas?

Well, the obvious one is "Metamorphosis" by kafka, a guy wakes up changed into a big cockroach.

The "Animorphs" series of books has teenagers changing into wolves, birds, etc. and they are very exciting and funny too.

Laura K. Hamilton has some great lycanthropy books. Check out the Anita Blake series. It is vampires and lycanthropes

Franz Kafka is the obvious response for his short story or novelette,"Metamorphosis," in which a man is transmogrified into a cockroach.

Laurell K is great, but try Susan Krinard. She's more specialized in Werewolves.
