Does anyone know anything about Supernatural on CW?

I caught about half an episode last night and it looks really good, but I am kinda lost on the background. Can anyone fill me in a little?

Long story short. Sam and Dean Winchester are, obviously, brothers. When the boys were young, their mother was killed by a fire on the ceiling, where she was being held...difficult to explain. Anyway, it was a demon that killed their mother in the nursery while Sam lay in the crib. After their mother's death, their father became a 'hunter' of sorts, looking for the demon that killed his wife but also killing other evil things along the way. Flash forward about 20 years...Sam is at Stanford and Dean is still hunting with their dad. Dean visits Sam to tell him that their father has been on a hunting trip and hasnt' come back yet. Sam goes with Dean to help find their father, but of course- they do not find him...just clues as to where he's been and where he might be going. When Sam finally returns to Stanford a few days later, his girlfriend Jessica is stuck to the ceiling, and has apparantly died in the same manner as Sam's mother. Sam packs up and finds Dean where they hit the road in search of evil things.

Important to know: at the end of last season, all three Winchesters were together and battling the demon they had been searching for for so long. The only way to kill the demon is by way of a special colt. They all wind up nearly dead-after long conflict and finally a car accident. At the beginning of this season, Dean is in fact dead. He has a chat with the grim reaper. Dad (John Winchester) makes a deal with THE demon to save Dean. Dean comes back, John dies. Now Sam and Dean are carrying on where their father left off, tracking clues that John left in a journal and meeting odd characters along the way.

That's a quick overview.
It's a really good show. There is, of course, a lot more to it than that...but that should at least get ya caught up enough to follow the story between the brothers.

FYI: Dean is the older brother, shorter, with shorter hair and he usually drives. Sam is the younger brother, is taller than Dean, has the shaggy hair and the visions.

Sam and Dean (the two hot guys) are brothers and their mother was killed by some creature/demon when they were little. Since then Dean and their father have been hunting whatever it was in hopes of finding it and killing it. Sam was in college, well-adjusted with a girlfriend and doing very well until the creature got to his girlfriend and killed her (same way as their mother... she somehow ended up on the ceiling and then burst into flames). So then Sam and Dean went off to find their father who had been hunting on his own for a while. At the end of the first season they did find him and they all ended up in a horrible car accident. Dean almost died but then his father traded his life for his own (very sad... Jeffrey Dean Morgan a.k.a. Denny Duquette from Grey's Anatomy was their father). And so Sam and Dean went off to hunt the thing again. And somehow Sam has the power of premonition, like Pheobe from Charmed. It's a really good show, and very funny at times. I've been a fan from the beginning. Hope that helps.

22 years ago when Sam was 6-months old, a demon killed their mother. Since then, their father (John) and the boys have been hunting all the supernatural things trying to protect people and kill the thing that killed their mother. Dean embraced the life of the hunter but Sam didn't like it as much and when he got the chance he escaped and went off to college where he met and fell in love with Jess. After John goes missing on one of his hunts, Dean comes back to find Sam and drags him along looking for their father. Sam returns home to find Jess being killed the same way his mother was. Sam joins with Dean and they travel the country looking for John and creatures to hunt.

a million. that they had a telephone communique in Scarecrow, they met up head to head in Shadow and that they even have been given returned mutually to seek in ineffective guy's Blood. They reunited temporarily with ineffective dad in All Hell Breaks loose 2. 2. In My Time of loss of lifestyles 3. offered his soul and had a heart attack 4. Scarecrow 5. The marvelous Seven; Lucifer increasing, Dean stabbed her along with her knife, the sole knife which could kill a demon.
