People always tell me I look really young. I mean I'm about 5'5 but I have a really young face. Does short hair, meaning shoulder length or so, make girls look older or their age? I'll be going to college soon and I would actually like people to think that I am a college student...

Actually shorter hair normally makes most look younger. One should not consider younger looking with the really short poodle doo. Short hair brings out the highlights of the face. One thing a person can do is just tye the hair back or up and not cut it.

Going to college??? You look young because you ARE young. Long hair at one age makes you look like a little girl; after a certain age it makes you look old. Always keep enough for a ponytail and you'll be fine. Shoulder length can always work - find a picture of a cut you like to bring with you.

No, I'm in college and when I cut my past shoulder length hair to a bob cut everyone thought I looked like a kid. It all depends on the person

Not necessarily, it depends on your facial features. I've known ladies to wear very long hair, that made them look older than they actually were. Find a hair cut that compliments your facial features, rather than disguising them. Color is another option you may wish to consider. Nothing drastic, but a subtle shade change, or highlights can do wonders for ones appearance. Trust me, a trusted professional can be a wonderful thing when it comes to looking great......at any age.

I think girls look older or more mature with either shoulder length hair or very short hair. I think chin length and longer hair past the shoulders looks the most youthful. HTH : )

In my experience it does. I was 18 and people kept thinking that I was 12 (no joke). So, I cut my hair to chin length and my current boss thought that I was in my 20's. So, yeah it does. Which, if you think about it, is kinda silly that they tell older women not to grow their hair out, because wouldn't that make them look younger?

i think it will make you look younger only because you said you have a young face. Longer hair usually hides those young features on your face.

it is usually the opposite. short hair makes you look younger but it really depends on your type of face and the type of cut.
