If the detergent is strong enough you are scarifying the seed. Where actually sulphuric acid is the common stuff used. (Not knowing what the seed is , that is.)

Scarifying is supposed to accelrate , and improve gemination ,, but I doubt you have all that good use for the extra mileage , because you could start with more seeds.

Radish , I remember does well with some salt in the irrigation. I am not sure ,, but beet does.

I do not truly know, but I would think that washing any seed in any detergent would not be good for it.
