Pretty much close to the truth. But, as always, we have to go back to our caveman ancestors for the best explanation. Back then, unlike nowadays, there was a clearly defined division of labor. Women stayed home and cleaned the cave and tended the fire and men got together and went out and killed animals and dragged them back to the cave. Periodically, the women would get together in a large group and go out looking for fruits and nuts and roots and berries. They'd scatter out over an area and stay in contact with each other by talking back and forth. Chattering. Mostly about nothing. Just to make noise so that they'd stay together as a group and one of 'em wouldn't wander off and get lost. The men, on the other hand, worked as a closely-knit team, silently stalking and ambushing quite large and evil-tempered beasts who mostly had an aversion to being speared. The men communicated mostly by hand signals, facial cues, and nods and grunts. Otherwise, the beast would gallop off and there would be no soup that night. Or worse, the mastondon would turn and attack the hunter and it could get real nasty. That's why women chatter on and on about nothing in particular and men still communicate with nods and grunts. It's true. You can look it up.

I don't think it is a question of word allocation. I think it depends on nervous anxiety. Women talk to calm themselves down when they are nervous.
Men do this, also, but it is rare. There's also a cultural moeity against men being chatty.
Women, however, have a green light for open discussion, especially in areas where comments can be unlimited in duration, such as discussing their relationships.
I don't think women can help it unless they are raised in a household of very great discipline when they are very young.

Perhaps it is that women (a) talk about things men don't think are important, ranging from talk about other people to girl-talk about cooking (b) talk a lot to try to establish communication, which men avoid unless it's about getting things done (c) talk out of nervousness (as men do too). I reckon teh main trouble is that men don't listen. As a man I've learned a great deal from women; amongst which has been an ability to follow curious and initially apparently illogical shifts in subject; an ability to sense when a pronoun doesn't refer to the last noun or personal name but to something else. Good luck.

Yep, they talk a lot, but that's primarily due to their greater powers of observation and communication. The female brain is wired in amazing ways which allows them to be stunning at multitasking (which is why they actually make very good airline pilots) and also voluble and capable communicators. Us poor dudes unfortunately can't compete in these arenas, and make do with fewer words because that's all our little minds can handle. And we can't walk and chew gum at the same time either. Bummer, eh?

Maybe.......I have been told I repesat things....this stems from the feeling of not being listened to in the first place. Now thatI believe is true....so becomes a habit. BUT a woman does have much to say thatis worth listening to......am sure all men agree with that one!!

Giving women a voice is one of the worst things nature has done.Either men should be deaf,or women should be voiceless, either way,we wouldn't have to listen to them.(Kidding)

Womens' brains are "wired" to talk out concerns whereas men tend to focus on solving a problem. It is like comparing apples and oranges. They just have different styles that seem to be inherent.
