No, it's not like peeing your pants.
It's like somebody threw a water balloon at your crotch and you are standing in a puddle of water.

My water broke before labor on both pregnancies, and it was like a small, constant trickle that would speed up if I bent over.
Some women have water breaks that are extreme, gushing things. My first labor involved a small leak, then when they were trying to get contractions more intense, they ruptured the amniotic sac and then, my God, it was a lot of fluid. It felt like gallons of water came out. It was unbelievable that a body could hold so much, plus a baby.
It doesn't hurt, it doesn't feel like you're expending any effort. At later stages of pregnancy, it's easy to pee a little and not even know it. My ob/gyn said a good way to see if it's amniotic fluid or urine leaking is to make a conscious effort to STOP the flow, like you would stop peeing. If you can make it stop or slow, then it's most likely urine. If it keeps on going with absolutely no change, it's probably amniotic fluid.
See your doctor if you are having discharge like that described and it doesn't smell like urine - it's nothing to fool around with, and a good percentage of first time moms end up making a few trips to the hospital for false alarms before the big day so it's nothing to be ashamed or worried about.

It can be a slow trikle a dot or two on your panties, not everyone gushes (like in the movies) If you think it may be your water even a 5% chance go up to the labor floor @your hospital if you wait too long more than 18 hours you & baby can get serious infection.

I wakened via fact of path I had to pee for the single trillionth time via fact that transforming into pregnant. I have been given up and with the help of the time I reached the mattress room door, it broke. i did no longer experience any tension or something. I in basic terms style of felt a popping sensation and then a great gush of water.

Honestly - it feels like a huge gush of water that comes barraling out of your girly bits - that is when it breaks fully. It's very warm.
When my water was LEAKING though - it felt like I kept having a bad day holding my bladder. I kept having to go to the bathroom to wipe every 10 minutes, and honestly, the smell of it when it changes (if it leaks) smells musty in a way, kind of salty. It's thick but slimey at first (at least that it was I thought).

Before your water breaks you'll usually feel some cramping first. Then it will feel like you peed your pants. After that the pains start getting stronger and more close togther. Once your water breaks, it time to grab your bag, and high tail your butt to the hospital ASAP!!!!

It feels like you are peeing, but you can't stop it and it is a lot of fluid. Like a whole lot, I soaked like three towels (after soaking the bed) and then I wore huge pads all day and had to keep changing them....Mine also had white stuff in it, like chunky stuff. My midwife said it was the stuff that coats the baby, I don't remember what it is called...
