Absolutely NOT!! J.K. had already written the ending before she even started the first book. You can't tell me that she could plan 7 books with the end result of Harry Potter himself dying in the end. No way! I'll bet money on it. Voldemort will die, no doubt. She's said in an interview, which I saw, that she changed one of the characters from her original ending who died, that they now live, but an unexpected one dies...and I'm sure it's not Harry.
Harry's mother put her life in front of his to give him more power than Voldemort, and he has it. That's where the 6 books have taken us. J.K. is not a pointless, mindless, writer. 7 books, and it's over. She is the one in control and I'm looking forward to where she has taken this.

I think it is a possibility... I could see Rowling pulling a Matrix ending, and look at the date that it is rumoured to be released... 07/07/07. However, it is not to say that he will die because remember that there are two people who the prophecy could pertain to, so it could mean that Longbottom dies. But than again, who knows what she has planned for the seventh book. I don't think I really helped with the answer, but I see so many ways it could go... She was smart to have a few ways out... Keeps people guessing. I have an idea, or two, but I don't want to delve too deep, because I may end up being disappointed that I was right.

I certainly hope not. But I do spend time worrying that it might happen. Many have said it might happen because Jo would not want someone else to write Harry, but then again, I think if that were the case, she mght have tried to put a stop to HP fan fic sites. I really don't think she would feel threatened or bothered, if she encouraged the love of literature through her efforts.

rumor says yes, i mean what else would you expect
that way her novels are final and no one can try to recreate them or add on in any way shape or form. and besides that is the beauty of creating such a spectacular work, you get to do what ever you want.
