It's the Gateway Arch. 630 feet tall. You can ride up in elevator-type cars to the top and look out. Inverted catenary curve. An airplane flew through it once - the pilot lost his license forever and ever. It's part of a national park.
Lots of good info at the link.

I thought everyone knew what the Gateway Arch was!
Congrats to the Cards! and, by the way, I'm also a Red Sox fan (half my family is from north of Boston), and was just as excited they broke the "curse" a couple years ago...even though I was raised in St. Louis and love the Cards, I'm a Red Sox girl as well!
what a way to end the 1st season in the new Busch Stadium!

The Gateway Arch, The gateway to the west. I’ve lived here since I was 3, 20 years and I have never been to the top of the arch. Sad isn’t it?

It's the Gateway Arch.
Official name: Jefferson National Expansion Memorial and its not a National Park.
It's a National Memorial to the expansion of the west back in the day.

That's the Arch on the waterfront edge of Missouri. The St. Louis icon. It goes hand-in-hand with Busch Stadium here like baseball goes with hot dogs. Visit STL, Fourth of July on the Mississippi waterfront and you will never forget it. I promise.
