Boats made of metal float because metal is only the skin, most of what is actually submerged in the water is air :)
So that whole volume of metal plus air weighs a lot less than that same volume of water would weigh, so the boat gets pushed up.
Normal pieces of metal sink because they are just metal, with no enclosed great volume of air.
Hope that answered your question!

I think the reason why boats made of metal don't sink is because they are hollow. A solid piece of metal would sink to the bottom.

its called water displacement. the combination of the weight of the metal boat and the air inside of the boat weigh less than the water that would be in that spot if the boat wasnt there, so the boat floats. lets use a thimble for example. say the thimble weighs a gram. that same amount of water weighs an ounce. so, when you set the thimble in the water and it displaces that same amount of water it floats because the thimble weighs less than the water did.

Metal is heavy, but metal boats displace air, which is lighter than water. Being hollow makes them float.

it is because the boats are rounded so there the water does not go over the edge of the boat hull....boats made of metal do sink if water gets over the edge or covers them...

Have no idea what your question is. Perhaps try english, as this is an all english sight. Good luck with the obvious brain damage you have incurred.

I agree with others here. First learn how to write, then get to the complicated stuff.
