This is a complete review of the whole movie.

The film begins with Detective Eric Matthews (Donnie Wahlberg), chained by the ankle in the same dilapidated bathroom he was imprisoned to in Saw 2. The only light source is a flashlight as Eric first attempts to free himself. He soon realizes, after seeing the corpse of Xavier (Franky G), that he would suffer the same fate as those before him. He tries to saw through the ankle chain and, after a failed attempt, takes the lid off the toilet. Eric begins to brutally pound upon his own-chained foot and breaks through the bone enough to slip free.

Elsewhere a laser cuts through a metal door that has been welded shut. Once through the door, a group of commandos rush inside and see a body in pieces scattered around the room. One of them calls for Detective Kerry (Dina Meyer), the "Jigsaw expert" (from the first 2 movies), who enters and asks if the victim is her former partner Eric Matthews. The victim is not Eric, but a man named Troy.

Troy's trap is shown in a flashback. He finds himself in an empty, forgotten, school classroom. The television screen turns on, and Jigsaw's puppet, Billy, is shown. Billy reveals that Troy had been in and out of prisons for quite some time and if he wishes to live, he must break free of the chains before the timer stops. If time runs out, a bomb in the room will detonate. The chains are hooked through his skin in various places, including his lower jaw, shoulders, arms, hands, legs and Achilles tendons. The television screen turns off, and he has approximately 1 minute to remove the chains. Troy painfully pulls the chain rings through his skin, but does not manage to remove the one on his lower jaw before time runs out. The resulting explosion seques back to the detective’s investigation. Kerry notes this particular trap does not fit Jigsaw's usual pattern. Jigsaw's "games" normally give the victim a chance to escape if they are successful. The welded shut door would not have allowed Troy to escape from the bomb's detonation even if the chains had been removed.

Later Kerry returns to her home and reviews Jigsaw's video tape on her bedroom television screen. After a few moments, the screen blurs and a new picture appears. Kerry soon realizes that it is herself that is now on the television and that the camera is recording inside her home, from the closet. She quickly shoots in the direction the camera would be in, but is captured by Amanda while sneaking into the closet. Kerry wakes up hanging from the ceiling in a metal contraption, attached to her ribcage that is attached to several chains hanging from the ceiling. Hanging next to her is a jar filled with acid and a key to free herself. She must retrieve the key before it fully dissolves in the acid. She manages to get a hold of the key and unlocks the chest piece. She struggles to remove it in time. In fact she is left with several seconds to spare, however it is not removed and her ribcage is ripped open soon after a robed figure (Amanda(Shawnee Smith), Jigsaw's apprentice) walks into the room.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) and Chris (Alan Van Sprang) sit on opposite sides of a bed. Bickering like a married couple, Lynn excuses herself to begin her shift at the hospital, but not before taking an anti-depressant pill. As she walks out of the room, Chris says that he wants a divorce and Lynn seems unaffected by his statement. After finishing her shift at the hospital, she prepares to leave, but finds herself locked in the locker room. Amanda kidnaps her and takes her to Jigsaw's warehouse.

Once conscious, Amanda explains to Lynn, the situation. While tied to a wheelchair, Lynn is wheeled to Jigsaw, who is resting in a makeshift hospital room. Amanda asks Lynn how long Jigsaw has to live, given his current condition. Lynn replies that it is not a simple answer, eventually confessing that he does not have long. Jigsaw then says that he wants to play a game. Amanda equips Lynn with a bulky collar surrounded by shotgun shells. The hammers behind each shell are clicked back by Amanda, and the collar responds with Jigsaw's heart rate. If Jigsaw flatlines, she goes more than 30 feet from Jigsaw, or tries to remove the collar herself, the shells explode, killing her and Jigsaw. It is explained that a man is also being tested and if he completes his test without Jigsaw dying, she is free to go.

This man is Jeff Reinhart, who wakes in a wooden crate suspended by a forklift. He finds a tape recorder and it tells that he is still consumed with hatred for those involved in his son Dylan's death. It also tells he must suffer and forgive in order to escape and in two hours, the doors will lock. Jeff quickly breaks free and in a flashback sequence, his rage is explored. Hours before it shows Jeff as he practices what he would say to his son's killer, even using a gun. The clearly drunk man then goes to his daughter’s room and asks where "it is". Jeff sees that she is hiding what he is looking for, a stuffed animal once belonging to Dylan. He tells her to never take things from her brother's room before placing the toy back in its place. Moments later Amanda captures him. In the current time, Jeff finds a box containing a piece of paper with "Open door to the left" typed on it, along with a partial ripped photograph and key within a box.

Amanda watches all of this on television monitors as Lynn tends to Jigsaw. Lynn explains that he has a brain herniation and his only hope is to get care from a hospital. Jigsaw then seems to have a seizure and Lynn is rushed into action. He stabilizes and she leaves to tell Amanda the tools she needs to fix the hernia; a power drill.

Jeff, elsewhere, enters a nearby room with "Face your fears" painted on the outside where Danica Scott (Debra McCabe) is shown hanging by her arms in a room where two identical vertical poles spray her naked body with cold water as she screams and attempts to regulate her breathing. In her tape, it is revealed that Danica was the one witness to the death of Dylan, but she fled the scene. Behind freezing cold pipes, Jeff can reach a key if he gets close enough to them. By doing this, however, his skin sticks to the pipe and he has to rip his flesh off. However, by the time he is able to get the key, Danica is completely frozen by the water. Jeff leaves the room and removes his icy jacket. Jeff finds another box, written on a paper is "One bullet will end it all" along with a single bullet, a gun clip, and another piece of the photograph.

Back inside Jigsaws warehouse, Lynn prepares to operate on Jigsaw and is confronted by Amanda who removes the idea of escaping or trying to kill her. Then in a flashback scene Jigsaw is shown painting the puppet Billy, placing Amanda into her reverse bear trap and her escape. Amanda is later shown in her apartment where Jigsaw offers her a new life. In present time, Amanda asks Jigsaw the reason he chose Lynn. Jigsaw replies that one reason was that she was "the best".

Elsewhere Jeff walks down a hall and sees Billy, Jigsaw's puppet, arranged in the same way as how Dylan was killed. Upon entering a room marked "Time to let go", Jeff hears the voice of a man screaming for help. As he searches around for the man, a large silo in the middle of the room begins to emit a loud, pulsating buzz. Jeff climbs up a ladder to see a man attached to the bottom of the silo by a metal brace holding his neck. As he screams for help, Jeff plays a tape. Jigsaws voice tells him that when the Judge presiding over his son's murder trial sentenced the murderer so lightly, his soul never recovered. He now has the power to sentence the man's soul straight to hell, or he can choose to forgive. As the tape player ends, a series of large, interlocking saws up above the man begin to whirl and buzz. Hanging from a conveyor like bar comes out a dead, rotten pig filled with maggots. The pig is dropped onto the saw blade and ground up, with the viscous gray liquid hitting the Judge in the face and choking him. In order to save the Judge, Jeff must destroy all of his son's possessions (photographs, stuffed animals) with an incinerator. Only then can he get the key to the Judge's neck brace. Jeff, after expressing his anger, is able to free the Judge, after painfully deciding to incinerate his son's possessions.

In the warehouse, Lynn begins to operate on Jigsaw. She drills into his skull and using different power tools removes a portion of his skull to relieve pressure in his brain from the hernia. Jigsaw's heart rate beings to decrease and he dreams or hallucinates walking in a sunny park with a blond curly haired woman. Jigsaw soon stabilizes and Amanda watches as he holds Lynn's hand and then says he loves her. Jealous of this, Amanda leaves as a flashback shows her agreeing to give up every cell in her body for him, as well as kidnapping Adam. In the present time, Amanda stricken with grief cuts herself on the thigh, which reveals numerous scars assumed to be from the same practice before. Lynn, in the other room puts on her wedding ring again and cleans herself. Amanda enters and hugs him, only to be scolded by Lynn. Amanda confronts Lynn, but Jigsaw interferes and tells Amanda to leave. Once she leaves, he tells Lynn that Amanda's weakness is her emotional nature.

Jeff and Judge Halden explore more and finds a box with another piece of the photograph with his daughter depicted. They then enter a room with "Here's your chance" painted on the door. The Rack is in the center of the room, where the victim, Timothy Young's head, arms, and legs are attached to a metal machine in the shape of a cross. Each end is able to twist 360 degrees, taking the victims head, arms, and legs along for the ride by spinning him around. The key to unlocking this trap is set up similarly to the eyehole door trap in Saw II, where the key is strung up on a chain that is connected to the trigger of a shotgun. If the key is removed with too much force, the shotgun will be set off. Jeff is at first reluctant to help for Tim was the man who killed his son, but later helps. He is able to undo the key from the shotgun (although the gun still triggers, shooting and killing the Judge), but is unable to free Tim in time and is forced to watch Tim's neck and the other bones in his body snap in a horrifying fashion. Jigsaw states on Tim's tape that this trap is a particular favorite of his. Jeff leaves the room.

Meanwhile in the warehouse, Amanda tells Jigsaw that Jeff has completed his tasks. Jigsaw tells Amanda to release Lynn, but she refuses with gun in hand, ready to kill Lynn. John attempts to calm her, claiming she would not be following the rules, but Amanda refuses to listen. John begs her to listen and says Lynn is far more important than she knows. Amanda feels betrayed by her mentor and cries out.

Nearby, Jeff discovers a gun and inserts a clip in the gun before continuing down the corridor. Jeff arrives in the room and Lynn goes to embrace him, but Amanda quickly shoots her. Lynn collapses in the arms of Jeff. Jigsaw explains that she has just shot Jeff's wife (as she was having an affair with Chris, who wanted Jeff and Lynn to divorce). Jeff then uses his own gun and shoots Amanda. The bullet grazes her neck, causing her to bleed out profusely. Jigsaw then reveals the truth behind this plan. Jigsaw had put Amanda through another test, one that she had failed. She had been building traps in which there was no escape, even if the rules were followed (i.e. Troy's chain trap could not have been won as the door to the room was welded shut, and the keys for both Tim and Kerry's did not release the trap as the rules stated). Jigsaw tells her that her subjects were not tests, but victims. In flashback sequences, Amanda is shown going back into the bathroom after the events in Saw and wake up Adam who was trapped in the bathroom. She tells him she is going to help him, and then in tears, suffocates Adam to death with a plastic bag. In another flash back, we see her leaving the bathroom after realizing Eric Matthews has escaped. She is attacked by Matthews, but believes he has not learned from his tests. Amanda manages to escape by kicking his broken foot, but stops short. Detective Eric Matthews begins to taunt her, saying that she is "Nothing" and claiming that she is no Jigsaw. In the present time, Jigsaw explains that he had decided to give Amanda one last chance. Jigsaw had reasons for choosing Lynn and Jeff in order to test her he explains before she dies from the blood loss.

Only feet away Jeff is holding the dying Lynn. Jigsaw tells him to face him and if cooperate, an ambulance to take her to hospital in 4 minutes. Jigsaw explains in the room, there are various tools that Jeff could use to exact his revenge on John or, he can forgive John, as he was responsible for the death of his son. Jeff claims he forgives him, but then uses an electric saw to slice Jigsaw's throat. Jigsaw begins to flatline and plays a tape that reveals that John himself was the final test. Jigsaw flatlines and the collar around Lynn's neck fires, killing her instantly. Jeff listens as the tape tells him that he has failed, and that the location of his daughter will be lost with Jigsaw's life.

Since you seen Saw 1 and 2 you should be able to understand my statement on the movie Saw 3. Amanda, Jigsaw's daughter, is going on with the game. If you remember right Jigsaw died at the end of Saw 2, and his daughter Amanda was the last one left. The movie came out today in theaters and I told the time and went and seen it. I don't think it's as good as Saw 1 and Saw 2, but it's an alright movie... You can tell by the end of the movie that they will make a Saw 4 and I'm sure they will make a 5,6,7. It's going to go on as a series I think........

Saw III is about a doctor who's been kidnap by Jigsaw and his apprentice, Amanda. The doctor is force to save Jigsaw life, in order for Jigsaw to see his final puzzle being played out, in which he captures a man to solve his final puzzle. The man's child was runover by a car, but the case was dismissed. Jigsaw manage to capture the people responsible for this injustice (the witness, the judge, and the perpetrator/accomplice who run over the child) and force the man to choose if they live or die (he has the opportunity to save them or let them die).
