The only "term" Bush should receive is an incarceration term.
Hero for what? Shredding the Constitution? Overseeing close to 3,000 American deaths in Iraq and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi deaths? He's done NOTHING on social security reform, tax reform, health care reform or education - all while he's had a Republican majority in Congress. The worst of Bush's inaction is his ignorance of Science that is destroying our environment and encouraging further greed and corporate pillaging.
You wait and see. One day you'll get it.

To Americans, a hero is someone admired for strength, achievements, and courage. Heroes are admired and respected. Bush is not a hero.
American Presidents are not afforded a third term even if they are a "hero".

Bush is about as much of a hero as my cat. Nobody can "give" him a third term, that would take an amendment and trust me, that isn't happening.

I think that you need to go back to government class. After FDR decided to be an Emperor, we got smart and limited the Presidency to just two terms. That is why the second term is considered a lame duck since there is no way for a President to get reelected.
Actually, Bush is not an American hero, he is just a sitting President that is at war because he was tired of seeing our innocents murdered.

No way is he a hero But, if they change the law, he would have to run against Bill Clinton who would then also qualify for a third term - do you honestly think he would risk getting whupped in an election?

If it was possible for him to be elected for a third term, absolutely, George W. Bush has been the greatest president since Reagan. Why? Here are just a few reasons:
1). Tax Cuts, people are better at investing their money than the government, therefore by allowing them to use their own money in the way that they see best, will in turn be best for the economy. Raising taxes has the opposite affect, which is why the economy was so bad, Clinton raised taxes to a point that the first surplus in history occurred during his term. The only reason that nobody cared about that fact was due to the fact that he was still enjoying the benefits of Reagan’s tax cuts.
2). Security, if anyone but Bush was in office, terrorists would rule. The way to deal with bad behavior is to make it clear that it is unacceptable. Doing nothing would have resulted in America being overtaken by terrorists. Although I hate the fact that people are dying over in Iraq, one of my best friends is over there right now, I realize that it is necessary for our security. The Iraq war is not Bush’s fault; it is the result of the world we are living in.
3) Leadership, imagine having a president that changed his/her mind with every different poll result rather than taking a stand for what they believe in. Just because a group of people supports an idea does not mean that it is the best idea, a president should be more concerned with making the best decision, rather than worrying about what that decision will do to his approval ratings.

Bush is an American zero...he should be given a steaming turd. Give him more time to paint the bull's eye on the nation? You think that's a good idea?

CNN presented a VG show called Broken Government. (Friday) It's a real eye opener to what some Republican politics are doing in the US today.
Some Republicans are opposed to somethings other so-called Republicans and Bush Administration are doing.
Check it out.

I guess you can start celebrating, because there are only 2 four-year terms for the Office of U. S. President.
