Salamanders, are amphibians, which live half their life in water and the other half out of the water. Lizards are reptiles, majority being land animals and will lay in a puddle of water to cool off or help loosen their skin during shedding.

Salamanders are anphibians. Like frogs. They have soft slimy skin that needs to be kept moist. I am not sure but I think they breath through their skin too. While lizards are reptiles and have rough skin or scales. I find that when I have randome questions such as this I find better answers on Ask.com or Google... They will provide you with pages of information on just about anything.
