what you have / total x 100 = %

Yes, multiplying any number by 100 basically means to move the decimal place 2 places.

Think of a grade. If you have 5 out of 6 and you want to know the percent, take 5/6 (which equals .83) and multiply it by 100 (which equals 83%).

So here is your problem:

1,500,234/5,000,000 x 100 = 30%

Finding the percentage is very easy.First of all make a fraction of the two quantities taking part as numerator and the whole as denominator.Multiply the fraction by 100 and hey,you get the percentage.Let us take two examples. What percent is 2 of 5.The answer will be (2/5)X100 =40%.Again,what percent of 12 is 15?Here the answer will be (15/12)X100=125%.The answer to your problem would be (1,500,234/5,00,000) X100 .yes if you multiply a number by 10,100,1000,100000 etc, just count the number of zeroes and shift the decimal of the multiplicand by equal no. of digits in the right hand side direction.Similarly,if you divide any number by 10,100,1000 etc, count the number of zeros and shift the decimal point of the multiplicand by equal no. of digits to the left hand side.

u divide the smallest # by the biggest # then multiply your answer by 100.

1,500,234/5,000,000=0.3000 times 100=30%

Well............ if you want to get the percentage, you must:
if you want 10% of it, simply times 0.1(x 0.1)
if you want 20% of it, simply times 0.2(x 0.2)
and so on.....................
it's easy..........
just a simple math!
Apply what you have learned in school!!!!!!!!
