Seems like a narrowminded question to me. I rarely listen to music with nothing but a guitar, bass and drum set. In songs that have such an arrangement, I pay most attention to the guitar, although I'm no guitar enthusiast myself. Generally I listen more to vocals and saxophone or flute playing, along with the overall phrasing. I'm not big on extremely repetitive songs.

Of the three you mention, I can't say, because it depends on who it is and the song. If I'm listening to Bon Jovi, I love Richie Sambora's lead guitar. If I'm listening to RUSH, I love Neil Peart's drums. I always turn up the bass, but I can't say I really notice it that much unless it's a real funky jazzy bass line.

I'm a drummer.. so Of Course I immediately go to the drums... IF the song's good enuf to get a second listen Then..I'll pick the instrumentation out one at a time...(in my minds ear).. a disect their parts for several different factors...
Most of all creativity. I love Prog Rock for just that reason.
I've just finished tracking a CD with this fella... he's prolly one of the most profific guitarists on the planet.

I'll admit, I love lead guitar. Right now my current fave (my all-time faves are Hendrix, Page, and Young), is Tom Morello. What a genius. I loved him with Rage Against The Machine, and I love him now with Audioslave. He can make the most amazing sounds with his guitar. I LOVE him!

totally bass, besides drums ofcourse.
i mean THOSE are where it's at.
without them it would be nothing.
the music would suck without the other
instruments but without the beat
there would be no music.
not to mention bassists are the coolest
