Hahahahaha....your Mum's wrong!!!! If she told you can lose some of your hearing doing that, then she's so right...I've lost a fair bit of my hearing from that and not wearing earplugs when I played in a band....oh by the way, I have 6 kids!!!!!

Mom's pulling your leg on that one! You need to be careful with the volume on your headphones, though. If you constantly listen at high volumes, it could contribute to tenitis (chronic ringing in your ears). I know. I have it a mild case of it, and it's very annoying at times, especially since I am a musician. There are other factors that can cause it as well, such as high blood pressure. But listening through headphones at a high volume for extended periods of time is not a great idea. You only have one set of ears to last your entire life, so don't screw 'em up!

Nope, unless she means that when the loud music makes your hearing go bad you won't be able to carry out good conversation. Therefore you wouldn't be able to get a girl and couldn't have children...But really, she's just making stuff up.

Not true... I am listening to loud music on my Sennheisers (and have been for 20+ years)... I have 2 kids!

Your mothers giving ya a lil fibby fib. However, it can make you get to a point in your life where you wish you hadn't listened to Led Zep as loud as your probably are. But babies, dude you can be deafer than a door nail and make many many babies :)
