If he had ranted and raved about african-americans this surely would not be the case. No one would write it off as "Well, he was just really drunk."

Really? Who was defending him?

He's an actor, not a politician. It amazes me that this was such a big deal. Sometimes I wish us humans were not such drama attics, but i am guilty of myself...so what can you do.

Anyway, I think that while his statements were antisemetic...the content of them is what got him off the hook. This country has been battling about war issues nonstop for the last few years, that his comment was an insensitive blah blah blah. If he made the same comment about African Americans, it would have be followed up with all of us going, "huh?" as opposed to being mad. Now if he made a stereotypical comment about another group that had nothing to do with war...then everyone would be madder.

No I am not surprised. First- people in certain "classes" seem to defend thier own- regardless. Second- the guy was a recovered alcoholic for many years. Being "drunk" and being someone who slips after being in recovery- are 2 different types of people. That's why they are in recovery to begin with.
Get it?

I don't care how good of a person or actor he was. If he yells at cops and curses all the other races and makes a cheap excuse to save his hide, I wouldn't defend him. If I cared about him I would just keep my mouth shut.

No, proposition 8 is a fulfillment commonly because we are a Christian u . s . a .. The Bible defines marriage as being between a guy and a lady, not between a guy and a guy, or between a lady and a lady. If not, why did God take a rib from Adam and create Eve?
