In Friday the 13th why is Jason killing people? Unhappy childhood...favorite pet died...what's up?

In Friday the 13th Jasons mother was the killer,he came along in part 2,as for his reason for killing,he drowned while camp counslers were partying and having sex...so he got his revenge for not being saved.

Several people have hit upon the major points, so I'll just distill it all into this post.

1) Jason was mentally retarded as well as physically deformed. He's a simpleton who's driven by instinct and raw emotion because higher logic doesn't exist in his mind. "Jason X" even makes a point to mention that his brain is significantly smaller than a normal human brain

2) Jason drowned as a child because the camp counselors were engaging in sexual behaviors as opposed to watching after him and the other kids. This fostered a hatred toward teenagers and explains why he becomes so visibly enraged when witnessing teens having sex.

3) Jason supposed saw his mother's beheading. Because she was so close and dear to him, that set off his rage and anger even more.

Now "Jason Goes to Hell" tried to put a more mystical spin on this entire character, but that was confine to a single film. The points I stated have been more or less consistent across the rest of the series (including "Freddy vs. Jason").

Jason had originally drowned because the counselors had been busy doing other things (including sex) to save him. This made his mom upset and she began to kill people in the first movie. She is finally killed at the end of that movie.

However, Jason comes back from the dead in the second movie. Seeing that his mom has died at the hands of the people there, he exacts his revenge and thus the Friday the 13th saga continues.

That story is true. It is based on a true event. Jeff was his name, and he drowned in a camp lake that was unsupervised.
His mommy abused him also. He was crazy. Then that bad panda bear and the baby seal attcked him while he was underwater. That traumatized him and he bought a machete from eBay.
He found the hockey mask in a Toronto alleyway that his mommy use to use to smoke ciggarettes and binge on candy bars. But not good candy bars like Milky Way or Hersheys, bad ones like Zagnut and Crunch Bars.
His daddy drove a truck. But he left them alone when he discovered how crazy that lady and her kid where.
Then Jason grew up to be real big,and crazy.
He had a teddy bear, but not a puppy dog pet. He wanted a Tickle Me Elmo, but all eBay had was Machetes. He bought a machete, but he was mad about the lack of stock and inventory routines at the eBay outlet so he went back to that lake.
Rumor has it that he is still there becuase as he was walking back from Redmond Washington a spaceship zapped him with a ray gun that stopped his cell de-generation.
But that is all I know.

Poor Jason. When he was young the kids at summer camp Crystal lake left him to drown and even the adult leaders there didn't help him. He possibly has a mental illness/disability as well.

yes the mom died, but later he becomes the reclusive demented killer living in the woods. Several parts later he became this zombie killer. The Jason 80's movies, now as a adult its kind of lame, and too sexual to show to my nephews and neices.

a pair years in the past, i think of five perchance. i grew to become into messing around with some buddies, and that i acutally broke my arm. I had to get pins put in my wrist, and elbow. i grew to become into in a solid for 5-6 months and had to get surgical technique. Worst day of my existence.
