It seems that almost everyone is telling you to level the machine and I am sure that you have tried to do so. The mistake that everyone makes in the leveling is turning the legs out away from the machine too far and the machine becomes top heavy. Then no matter how level the machine is it will walk during spin even with a slightly unbalanced load.
Adjust all of the legs up into the machine as far as you can and then check for level and stability. You do not need to get the machine perfectly level as long as it sits relatively flat. It should not rock at all from corner to corner or side to side. If it does adjust the leg until it is stable. If you adjust the leg out too far do not adjust another leg to compensate but adjust the first one back. This is where everyone starts to give themselves the problem. They usually turn another leg to compensate and on and on until the legs are almost all of the way out causing the machine to become top heavy.

Level the feet, usually by pulling toward you to lift the back ones up, and they should pop out and when back on the floor, level accordingly. Same with the front, only reverse your direction of bringing the machine up. Also, ensure that your loads are balanced. If a heavy piece of clothing or towel spins against lighter ones, it throws the machine out of kilter and it spins off-balance and stops. So levelling and balancing your loads should do it.

Just found out that some top loaders have a liquid balance system built in the inner basket. If the liquid leaks out over time it will not balance no matter how you arrange the clothes. My Whirlpool is out of balance and I think the inner basket will have to be replaced. The repairman came today and replaced the drive connector and it is better but not fixed.

The bottom has 4 screws on each corner (feet). Put a level on top & level it.
If it is brand new, there should be a shipping bracket that needs to be removed in newer washers, Kenmore at least, it is yellow, and prevents the drum from moving upon shipping, if it DOES in fact have one and that is not removed, it would cause the machine to move as the drum couldn't.

Here is what you need to do. With the washer empty - -you run the water till it gets up to the second ring of holes lining the tub. Turn off the water. Look all around the tub to see where exactly it is not balanced. on the front of your washer just under the edged are the legs your washer sits on.(don't mess with the back ones - they are self balancing) with a cresent wrench or pliers turn the leg on the side that is not balanced until the water is in a straight line all around the tub.

I have a Fisher & paykel at work. It can be tempermental. Just make sure that the towels are arranged evenly around the aggitator. This machine is sensitive to what is loaded and makes the adjustments for you. If you are loading too many for example it will kick itself off.

Washers sometimes get un-level. Lay a level on the top with the lid closed. Check it side to side and back to front. if you don't have a level, use a glass pan with water in it to check for level. If it is level, then check water level, it may be too low.

make sure the washer is level, front to back & side to side. use a level. then if you still have problems call F & P @ 1-888-936-7872 they can be very helpfull (by the way your F&P washer is safer on your clothes & is much healthier to use than a front loader) F&P is not a typical top loader.
