Alright, since the holidays are just a month away, I got a question. I could either get a PS3 or Xbox 360, and I heard they're both incredible! but there are supposedly issues with the 360(burning down, freezing, etc.) and I dont know how the PS3 will turn out! Any suggestions?

it's going to be a personal question. i have a PS2, a XBOX, a Nintendo Cube .. and the reason was really for the different games. The best buy from me was the PS2 in which I purchase a Region 1 PS2. The worst was the Cube since there were little games on it. The most dissapointing was the XBOX as I purchased a Region 3 version and support for Region 3 XBOX games in Asia was terrible.

I recently purchased a Region 3 XBOX360 by trading in my XBOX mainly because of the existing XBOX games I had and the fact the rumour is that the next gen games will all be region free (I am based on faith here).

I will keep an eye on the PS3 as it comes out but won't be jumping on the bandwagon that fast. At the end of the day, it's the games that counts and seems that most publishers are publishing on the two platforms now. Wii is something that I will also keep an eye on but not much faith yet .. again will depend on the games.

Doesn't answer your question but I would suggest you look at what you are after now and based on the needs now.

I recommend for right now get the Xbox 360 Platinum with Splinter Cell Double Agent, mainly because the PS3 will have alot of glitches and issues because it is new. Xbox 360 have pretty much worked out all of the problems, just make sure you keep the system and the power supply in a well ventilated area or you will have overheating problems.

I play my boyfriends 360 sometimes.. we've never had a problem w/over heating (microsoft would take it back and fix it anyway).. but it does freeze sometimes. That's the only drawback. Why not get the 360 and avoid the outrageous prices of the ps3, unless you plan on camping out for it.

The only real major disadvantage the PS3 has is its huge price tag, but if you can get it then by all means do, it is literally twice as powerful as the 360.
