MY brake lights turned off when pedal was depressed all the way down. Swapped in a new one and now no brake lights. Put in old switch and still no lights. During intial swap did not disconnect battery or remove fuse to air bag, Flashers and blinkers work.

i own a repair shop, and you may have gotten a bad switch,or it might have blown a fuse for the brake lights,i have bought brand new ones that didn't work, and had to take them back before, but its possible it might have blow-ed a fuse while you was hooking it up,id check all the fuses for It,and then recheck the switch,it has to be something real simple on it,but if you take your time you will get it fixed, just be patient with it,and you,ll get it,,good luck with it,i hope this help,s

It sounds like someone wired up a trailer hitch..disconnected it, then rewired their own work. Trace the wires, from the switch back ther was a reverse in the polarity, that is why they went out when the pedal was depressed..yada, yada, yada..chase out the wires. That's your problem!

take a paper clip, unfold it, now bend it in half.
stick the two ends into the recepticle that plugs into the switch.
if you have brake lights...it's the switch. If you don't, it something else.

double check your fuses.

It could also be a bad flasher relay....realy....
