Best songs =
Live : Celebration of the Lizard (check out Absolutely Live)
Definitive : Break on Through
Epic : The End
Strange : My Wild Love

If Jim were alive today, he'd be reclusive. He might pop up from time to time to produce something or some new act he admired perhaps like Ray Manzarek does. I think he'd be a writer / philosopher and spend a lot of his time fulfilling his spiritual quests.

Riders on the Storm has to be the best song from the Doors.

As for the second part of the question, I believe he (Jim Morrison) would have retired from the music industry and retreated to Tibet to learn the secrets of life from the Dali Lama...(Jim M. was very spiritual...)

Riders on the Storm is good but my fave is Break on Through.
I think if he was still alive today he would be writing not performing. He was a great songwriter and poet.

Riders on the Storm. Yes, he'd still be partying. Don't know how good his songs would be though. Different era.

Meh....the Doors are ok if you're into that experimental stuff...Morrison would be living in a van down by the river with his old lady getting high on meth talking about the "good ole days". So, no I don't think he would have made it to 1980 and most of their songs are strange and sad...

Riders on the Storm...if alive today, he would probably be somewhat damaged, like Ozzy.
