=I would just ignore it and tend to business as usual. If you make a big deal out of it she will always wonder. If you just be yourself she will doubt that you did such a thing. Let her bring it up and not you.

Face the friend that told her and ask if she would please retract what she had said. Then approach to hottie and appolgize to her and ask if her friend retracted her words yet. If not let it go.

I doubt that she'll ever believe that you didn't say it. If her friend told her this, she is going to believe her friend. Just try to talk to her about it.
