Use a good grade leather cleaner. You might ask at a furniture store that sells leather furniture what they recommend. They have to have ideas that they give their customers.

It's almost impossible. The leather absorbs the cigarette odor and it lingers for a long, stinky time! I once had to sleep on a leather couch in a smoker's home, and thought I'd choke before the night was out.
You might try sprinkling it with baking soda, letting the soda sit on it for a day (keeping it dry, of course) and then vacuuming it up. Sometimes the baking soda will help absorb the odor, but it really depends on how bad it is.
Good luck with it!

Leather does not naturally harbour odours. You will find it is in the interiors of the cushions etc and it is these that need cleaning. Then clean the leather with a good foam leather cleaner, water based so no oils or waxes or silicones and this done on a regular basis should help

If its all real leather use some saddle soap to wash it and then apply some neats foot oil to soften it up a bit. Some leather couches are part leather and part pleather to save on cost. Its hard to tell the difference until you use these, it wont hurt anything but the neats foot oil wont be absorbed.
