"Phlegm" is a combination of secretions, cells, mucus and possibley bacteria from your lungs. You're supposed to cough it up. If production has increased you may have a mild lower respiratory tract infection or allergy.
Try any product with guifenasen, stay hydrated and give your self a few deep breaths six times an hour.

phlegm (Pronounced Flem) is the goo in your throat, sinus cavity (snot) uh, its lots of places. Coughing it up is what boys like call, "Hocking up a loogy." Gross, huh?
You should see a doctor because if it's really annoying enough to ask online, you really should be asking someone who knows what they are talking about.
It can make breathing difficult. I have Asthma and allergies so when I get irratated or sick I can cough a lot! I get Bronchitis at least once a year but if your immune system is weak (from a cold or flu or something) you can develop it often or even chronicaly! It can even progress into pneumonia if you don't get treated soon enough and that's no fun! So, you really ought to see a Doctor.
BUT, in case that's not possible (I'm self employed with no insurance so, I understand.)
First, if you smoke ... STOP! Your lungs are obviously aggrivated. Why make it worse?
Secondly, get yourself some Mucinex. I found that it works very well. You may feel dried out though since mucus membranes (phlegm) keeps your body hydrated and it catches germs and allergens. Often, that's why you sneeze.
Third, get a humidifier or vaporizer and use it in your room at night. I had a hot steam vaporizer for years and then when I needed a new one I got a cool steam one instead. Personally, I liked the hot steam one better. But you will get burned if you put your hand on or too near the steam. So, be careful.
Fourth, get plenty of rest. Drink a lot of water. Cranberry juice is hydrating too and it has natural anti-biotics. Stay away from sports drinks like gatoraide. It's just sugar water anyway and it's not as good for you as we are supposed to think!
If this doesn't clear up in a few days (Don't go longer than a week!) you're going to have to see a doctor. Don't let it go for too long, it could get worse!

Phlegm is a thick, viscous mucus excreted from the respiratory tract. Mucinix is supposed to get rid of the problem.

phlegm, or "snot" as it is commonly referred to, is mucous that builds up when your body expereinces a stressor, like a respiratory infection. IT can contain white blood cells, and can be different colors as well. Clear phlegm is associated with allergic conditions usually, and darker phlegm (brown, green) may mean you have an infection.
Call your doctor if you have any questions, and definitely if you're running a fever with your symptoms.
