yes Nairobi is safe. Am 25 with a whole butt, never got hurt and i've been here like forever.

Nairobi is NOT safe. Kenyans tend to compare the crime in Nairobi with crimes in say London, or Chicago or NY, but it is not the same.
First, there is not a criminal justice system to speak off. The police are there to make a living only. Preferred method is magendo (bribery) thrown in with a little extortion. Tourists are especially vunerable because they are soft targets. You risk being mugged if you carry a camera! You cannot go anywhere after dark. You cannot walk anywhere thanks to the parking boys. You cannot drive thanks to the matatus and potholes.
Now do you think this sounds like NY, Chicago or London?
