bisexual: person with the capability to be attracted to a person of either gender
transgendered: a person who lives a substantial portion of their lives in a gender different from that assigned at birth. usually refers to a person who wishes to or has changed their socially identifyable gender. renegade6... pretty much nailed the Transgender description whereas a lot of others didn't.
Gay can mean men attracted to men or it can refer to homosexuals in general (i.e. include lesbians).
The most important thing that I'd add to the gay, bi, and lesbian answers is that same sex attraction includes more than just sexual attraction - it is about deep and abiding love as well. That's the part most straights don't get; they tend to simply focus on the act of sex. As anyone in a healthy and positive long-term committed relationship can tell you, the attraction and love goes way beyond sex. Oh, and, the physical attraction goes beyond genitalia.
Some other info is that lesbians don't won't to be men and gays do not want to be women. Ppl who feel that way are transgender. Most gays are not effeminate and most lesbians are not masculine. Although some same sex relationships have a form of role play, quite often there is none (i.e. one does not play female to the other's male role).
Bi-sexuality is not synonymous with promiscuous. It means they are attracted to a person regardless of gender. Bi ppl are just as capable, and typically desire, a long-term relationship with a single partner.
Cross-dressers, by the way, are people who like to dress up in the opposite sexes' clothes. Quite often they are heterosexual.
Gender identity and sexual orientation are two different things.
Ask more questions if you want to know more.

Well, I'll try...
Gay: Generically referse to " same sex relationships" most used in terms of Male to Male
Lesbian: A female specific form of " Gay ". Female to Female relationships.
Bisexual: Well, you don't have any sexual preference. Male, Female, doesn't matter.
Transgendered: Sex change operation has been performed. Man turned into a woman or a woman turned into a man. That's a medical procedure, as oposed to a sexual preference.

A gay man is a man who is sexually, romantically, erotically and emotionally inclined to seduce, sleep with, and sometimes fall in love with, other gay men. Ditto for a lesbian.
Bisexuals are attracted sexually to both men and women, with varying degrees of being emotionally involved with the people they sleep with.
Transgendered people have operations to change their genitalia so their physical body matches their gender identity.

yay i get to espress my knowlege on this subject!
Gay (homosexual) people are people that are highly attracted to same sex people... for example Gay men are attracted to other men. Gay women are attracted to other women.
Lesbian is another word for a gay woman. Like i expalined above gay women (lesbians) are attracted to other women.
Bisexuals are people who are attracted to both men and women. There can be bisexual men and there are also bisexual women.
Trangender people are still in the same page as homosexuals just that they belive that they are a man/ woman in a man/ woman's body. For example a trangender man belives that he is a woman inside a man's body causing him to be attracted to men but feel like a woman. Transgenders usually tend to get sex changes to lead a happier life.
hope this helped and on behalf of myself and the gay community i would like to thank you for actually asking than just assuming which would lead you to misunderstanding which would lead you to hate. laters
