Basically, "The Shining" is about an old hotel and all the haunting there trying to drive people crazy...
"It" is harder to describe the book is SO much better than the movie. The clown is basically all the evil feelings in this town taking over people's thoughts and making them get really scared..it is the evil of the town personified...if that makes sense. "It" is second only to "The Stand" on my scale of the best Stephen King books...See "The Stand" mini series it is really good...so is "Rose Red". I just got his new book "Lisey's Story" from the library...

Stephen King's It was about a psychotic clown that terrorized a town. The Shining was about a writer in a remote area with his family that became psychotic in being isolated.

it is a very freaky mad for TV movie about a clown that lives in the sewers of a country town and eats the children and anyone who believes in it (it scare me so badly when i first saw in i wouldn't walk over sewer grates or even go in the bath room or near a sink unless necessary) i eventually go over these fears after i saw the movie a couple of more time and i think its really funny now.
the shining is a movie where people bought a hotel where a bunch of people died and the ghost haunt it. But along with the ghost the dad owner slowly begin to go crazy form the lack of outside contact and trying to write a masterpiece novel.

The Shining is about a haunted hotel. But the book was much better and the movie was a waste of time. If you want to see it, make sure you see it before you read the book.

If you think the movie was scary try reading the book at 2:00 AM with a flashlight under your covers..... wow! Back in ancient times before Jay Leno was the host of the tonight show, A man named Johnny Carson hosted and when the show started every night, the sidekick guy (Ed McMahon) always started the show by saying "Heeeeeeere's Johnny!"

It wasn't the best movie ever! There's a clown who kills the kids who believe in him. I thought it was stupid. The book was much better.
The Shining is one of the creepiest movies ever!!! I watched it recently...I've seen the movie about a hundred times and it still scares me!! This one's about a writer who is trying to write a book. To concentrate on his book, he interviews to be the caretaker of an old "haunted" hotel during the winter when there are no guests (they say that this hotel really IS haunted, which makes the movie that much better). Jack Nicholson stars and it's one of his best performances ever!!! You truly believe that he's going crazy. He does try to kill his family in the movie. Watch it...the little girls in the hallway freak me out every single time!!!
