My mom has a skunk living underneath her window...
she has a dog but doesnt want the dog to go after it
whats the best way to make him go away without killing it?

I once had a skunk in the garage; we tried yelling at him and throwing stuff under the car, but he wouldn't budge. So we let loose on him with the hose and took off! I never saw a skunk run so fast. He never sprayed either.

I have done this many times and it works. Go to the store and buy a bunch of oranges or lemons and peel them and put the rinds all over the yard. The skunks don't like the citrus smell or something. You might be able to find a store that is throwing away old oranges and just take a dozen or so. Good luck!

without killing it ? Best way is to trap it in a live trap using bait. when it is trapped take an OLD sheet that is wet real wet. and hold it in front of you while you walk toward the trap slowly, and lay it over the trap slowly !!. make sure you cover the trap. take away in a pickup truck..this is important !!! and open trap with sheet still on carefully and wait till he runs. most of the time and i mean MOST they will not spray when covered , if it cannot see the threat. shooting it will only leave a smell for weeks near your house.

Coyote urine. They sell it in hunting/outdoors shops. Spread that in drops around the perimeter of your yard, and underneath the window, and the skunk will get scared and go away.

May be Home Depot or other hardware stores have skunk repelent. Or some other specialty stores.

go to a herbal store and ask for a herb that can get rid of skunks

without killing it? good luck on that. no way would i go near a skunk without a gun. what's to stop that thing from spraying? eewww!

Having pier and beam homes out in the country, this is our way of life all the time....just get a cage and trap him with food.....GET SOMEONE ELSE to take him to a new home....LOL

You need any males in your life to go pee outside in the yard. Shunks and other critters don't like the smell.

here we call the city they come out with a trap and trap it and check it every day and reset it, if they catch it they make sure it is not rabbied and hawl it off.
