Your friend is talking about "ovulation" the time when the egg leaves the ovary and travels down the fallopian tube. The egg is viable, or able to be fertilized for two days as she said. If the egg has not been fertilized, usually 14 days later, you will get your period. When you have intercourse, and the boy ejaculates or c*ms inside you, millions of sperm are released inside you. Some travel up the fallopian tube. It takes only one to fertilize the egg. Even so, you still might not be pregnant. To be pregnant, the fertilized egg must implant itself in the uterine lining, which is where the blood in your period comes from. This usually takes eight days from the time of fertilization.
Since most women don't know when they are ovulating and some conditions may exist that a woman doesn't know of that could effect ovulation, it is still risky for a woman to have unprotected sex, no matter when those "two days" occur during the month.

while it is true that usually only one egg will separate itself (ovulation) from your ovary each month, and that egg may only take 2 - 3 days to travel down the fallopian tube and enter the womb.... and that those days are the optimum time to conceive....... what your friend says is actually not fully the truth.
You can conceivably get pregnant AT ANY TIME during the 1st day of your 1st period until menopause - with no break. Every woman is different, but that';s basically what you need to know. AND NEVER FORGET IT.
Abstain from sex until you are married - and stay clean.

There is only one time per month that a woman ovulates and that is the time she will be able to get pregnant. The egg will live for 12 to 24 hours on average. That is it. But you still have to be careful, becuase Sperm can live an average of 3 to 7 days inside a woman, waiting for the egg.

There is actually only once a month a woman is fertile. You count 14 days from the 1st day of your period. Those are your unfertile days. That is when the egg is moving down from the ovary. It takes another 5-7 days for the egg to get into the uterus and the lining form. Some point after that is your fertile time. You can take test to see your ovulation times.

there are only a few days in which you can get pregnant during a monthly cycle.
that is why people use ovulation predictors if they are trying to get pregnant.
It is because the egg has to be in between certain areas in the cycle in order to become fertilized. If they do get fertilized too soon in the cycle, they are not mature enough to grow, if they get fertilized too late in the cycle, they don't have a chance to attach to the uterus.

Yes, there is a short time frame in which you can get pregnant, it is commonly called the period of ovulation. This is when the egg comes down to the uterine wall. It will be there for a week and is the prime time in which you can get pregnant.

48 hours either side of ovulation which you may get an awareness of is the the best "opening" or window when your chances are about 1 in three. outside of that interval they drop off dramatically to about 1 in hundred or worse. I would love to help more!

Women can ovulate several times a month. They did a study with 63 women, 63 had normal periods. and out of that 63, 50 had normal ovarian cycles. so it really just depends on the woman. there are tests you can take to find out your ovarian cycle.
