Another type of static friction exists. When you have a box which is too heavy to move or slide, that is static friction. Friction is so great that movement is prevented. No movement means static.

Bumper cars would be a great example, movement by electrical charge resistant by static friction. Or you rub a balloon on your head then stick it up against a wall with the opposite charge and the balloon will not move do to static friction.

since its around Halloween, those silly things that people hang in their windows that look sorta like stickers, but their not sticky, they stay up due to static friction
