What the person above said is correct. Very few companies will 'take a chance' on y ou. However, you may be thinking of "Drop Shippers". This is a company which allows you to advertise an item, and when it sells, you call the company and they send the item to your customer.
The term comes from department stores back in the 50's and 60's who would ship an item out of the ware house to the customer's home. The item was "Dropped" into the mail and shipped to the customer.
There is a lot to be said forDrop shippers, like how you have no inventory and can advertise a lot of items at once. However there is more to say against them than for them.
Drop shippers are good if you like being in the business of being in business. This means that you end up doing a lot of business iwth the Drop shipper, but little with your customers. You're constantly tracking shipments, tracking orders, etc, and not dealing with your customers.
In addition, consider this: You are not in an exclusive group of people buying these items. You are not even in a medium group. A company couldn' stay in business with just a few hundred "sellers". This means that you and several thousand other people can be selling the same item, all having bought it at the same price. (or at least you will when it sells.)
Now, let's talk about that inventory. Just because teh company says they have it now, doens't mean they will have it in a week when yOUR customer buys. Now, the FTC says that once an item is purchased, it must be shipped within 30 days. In this business you don't order the item until your customer pays, and you don't pay for it until it ships. Sounds great huh? What this means is that when an item is out of stock, since you have not paid for it, the company is in no rush to return it to stock just for you (and your customer) In the meantime, your customer must receive thier item within 30 days because they paid you. Result: Refund to teh customer.
I'm not saying this WILL happen, but it does happen a lot more than Drop Shipping companies like to admit. And I"v enot even covered the subject of how they pack breakables!!

I run my own sales company, and buy from several manufacturers, I've yet to meet a company that will offer you product without immediate payment for the first several months.
I am invoiced by all of them now, however manufacturers are strict on their terms, must be under 30 days or shut off.
So if your invoicing customers as I do. You'll find that only in the fantasy world will you be paid in under 30 days by the majority of companies you sell to.
So my professional advice: Have some capitol of some kind whether financed/saved or grow slowly.

Very few will do this. Most however will provide a reduced cost start up kit.
You can also try door to door sales. Vacuum cleaners will consign a set to you after you go through their training. Try Aerus/ Electrolux for good product and high pay.
