They are not satanic I have used them off and on for 40 years and I have never experienced anything bad form their use.
The people I have known personally who claim they had a bad experience were either lying or mentally unstable to begin with.
As a kid in the Pentecostal church many of my friends lied and said they had bad experiences to get attention at church. I was sitting using on with one of my friends who started yelling and claiming demons were in the room and there was nothing. He was faking it so he had a god story to tell at church. I know because he finally admitted it to me.
He was the type who like to appear to be spiritual and holy and went around telling everyone they better be careful because it made him feel good.

I had one when I was a teenager back in the 60's but was forbidden to use it in the house. A friend was in the Navy so we asked it if he was going on board ship & it said yes. We asked the name of the ship & it spelled it for us. Both of those came true. I never asked it anything serious. It will work with just one person because I've tried it. I still have that Ouija board but never get it out any more. Also, I never would let my daughter use it at all.

No, they aren't Satanic any more than a car is Satanic. They're just boards with letters and numbers printed on them.
What they do is open the door to the otherworld. The land of the dead and spirits. The problem is that you don't know what will come through that door. You can't see it. You can't defend against it. It's supernatural. And because you can't do anything about it, that makes opening that door dangerous.
It's not the board thats the danger, it's not understanding that the otherworld needs to be respected because it's not a toy.

BTW, Ouija is the brand. They're just spirit boards. A medium for contacting the spirit world. They're not satanic.
But neither are they a game. Do YOU like it when some stupid kid rings your doorbell and then runs?
Take care when using one. Work inside a protective circle. And be respectful.

No they are not Satantic.
they are more like a switchboard between you and a spirit you want to contact. I.E a dead grandparents soul.
Beware this is not a game and it needs training in areas before being used. How to set up a protective circle, physic self-defense, self control and concentration. How to dismiss any bad spirits that manage to get in. and maintaining control over all the good spirits that will want to come through at once.

"Aleister Crowley, the most infamous of Occultists, advocated the use of Ouija boards and they played a major role in many of his magickal workings. [1] [2]"
For those that know Crowley is considered to be one of the prominant Satanists of all time
"GK Chesterton also used the Ouija board. Around 1893 he had gone through a crisis of skepticism and depression and during this period Chesterton experimented with the Ouija board and grew fascinated with the occult. [2]"
"Many users feel that the spirit with whom they are communicating is controlling their motions to guide their hands, spelling out messages. They see the board as a tool or medium through which they communicate with the spirit realm. These believers often take offense at the dismissal of the talking board as merely a game. Other users contend that they are in control of their own actions, but that the talking board allows communication with their inner psychic voice or subconscious.
Some proponents of Ouija boards claim the activity is harmless fun. Others believe that they are communicating with spiritual entities but there is no harm in doing so provided that basic guidelines are followed. These rules often vary from user to user, but usually include things like never playing alone, beginning and ending a séance "properly", and always using the board in a "comfortable" environment. Numerous superstitions surround Ouija board use, including the alleged indestructiveness of the board."
"Skeptic and magician James Randi, in his book An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural, points out that when blindfolded, Ouija board operators are unable to produce intelligible messages. Magicians Penn & Teller performed a similar demonstration in an episode of their television show Bullshit! in which the operators moved the planchette into what they thought was the positions of "yes" and "no" without knowing that the board was turned upside-down, which caused them to move the planchette into blank spaces on the board."
"Although Ouija boards are viewed by some as a positive spiritual device or a simple toy, there are people who believe they can be harmful, including Edgar Cayce, who called them "dangerous."[4] Critics warn that evil demons pretend to be cooperative ghosts in order to trick players into becoming spiritually possessed.
Some practitioners claim to have had bad experiences related to the use of talking boards by being haunted by demons, seeing apparitions of spirits, and hearing voices after using these boards. A few Paranormal researchers, such as John Zaffis, claim that the majority of the worst cases of demon harassment and possession are caused by the use of Ouija boards. The noted American demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren, stated that "Ouija boards are just as dangerous as drugs."[5] They further state that, "Séances and Ouija boards and other occult paraphernalia are dangerous because evil spirits often disguise themselves as your loved ones—and take over your life."[6]"

I think they are used by spirits to influence you--the spirits may be good or bad, but they may try to act like a "soul in distress" to gain your sympathy so you'll open up to them. But once you do and they're through the "gateway" opened by the ouija board they are hard to get rid of and won't leave you alone. PLEASE be careful.

They are supposedly a "portal" through which spirits can contact the living. The spirits can be evil or a sweet dead relative. I have never even been around one; but I wouldn't be afraid! There is nothing to fear but fear itself!!
