Its too late too cut and run even if we pulled everyone out today. We've been there over three years now. I would agree if it were still the middle of 2004, but were' just following the usual course of action. Look back at Germany and Japan, about the same, we had a lot of troops over there until about 1949. (Yes I know the outcome was very different then - I'm just discussing the time line that's all)
As for the insurgency, its not our job to police Iraq. As far as the "civil war", let them fight it out. We did in the 1860's. This may not sound too polite, but if you have several factions with feelings of anger built up over centuries, I just don't think they're going to listen to us and smile at each other.
Cutting our government a break doesn't make me a moron does it?
No matter how calm I express these issues our how close to the middle of the road I take - I always get hammered when I answer these politically loaded questions. I'll go back to the Math and science section and let you guys destroy each other's answers.

No Bush wants a stable middle east. If bush leaves Iraq the terrorists and sadists will be back to destabilize the gulf. Remember what Saddam did to the Kurds, the Iranians and the Kuwaitis.
Saddam is a very ambitious and aggressive man and should be stopped. He has already shown the world what he can do with chemical weapons. If he had nuclear weapons then chances of him using them are relatively high.
What if Saddam was left alone and he developed nuclear weapons ? What would happen then is a big question mark . Would he be another Hitler ?
Think think ...

No, he realized he had to look the horse in the mouth and didn't like what he saw. It's a funny Youtube moment. He claims he's never used those words and it didn't take twenty minutes before someone was splicing those very words together from all the times he's said it no doubt to the R.E.M.'s, "End of the World As We Know It". So who feels fine?
