Sound like someone has got school work to do and is gonna get everyone to help.
It depends on how you define superpower. I would define a superpower as a country having large amounts of political, monitary, natural, and military resources. No one is more important than the other because they are all intertwined.
I would agree that China is the new Superpower for the pacific rim. I would say with the continued decline of Russia, and the continuing economic growth, and military buildup in China they could be on par if not surpass the United States in 10 to 15 years. I would even be so bold to say they are the new superpower of the eastern hemisphere, with Russia coming in a close 2nd. Russia still has the natural resources and political influence, but they are losing their military and monitary influence.
Now for my top five:
1. United States
2. China
3. Russia
4. Saudi Arabia
5. England

On the descending order.
1 United states. 2 Russia. 3 China. 4 India 5 North Korea
6.UK 7 France 8.N.Pakistan 9 Vietnam 10 Turkey 11 Israel 12 Iran 13 Syria 14 Ukraine 15 Italy.
Israel although army is very well trained is too small to have staying power.Good for small local proxy wars.Pakistan although poor country has probably the best disciplined Army along with India. The first six have huge standing Armies and a lot of fire power .They are nuclear powers too.

China is an economic power and it has a large military. Economics do not make you a super-power especially when your economy can so easily collapse. Military power is often the scale as to weigh a super-power and though China has a large military its not geared to outward military conquest. (China only has a small navy geared for coastal defense and its ICBM’s are few in number.)The Chinese military is used for internal security, the control of the Chinese people. With the breakup and collapse of the Soviet Union and the military downturn of the EU member states there is only one super-power, The United States of America.
