Please help me out here...
My neighbor and I were watching the world series and they started playing "Detroit, rock city" and so now my neighbor swears up and down that they are from Detroit. I told him they were from New York. I told him about "Wicked Lester", which according to the official KISS website was a "New York based band" and still he persists. Get this, he says that just because WL was from NY, that doesn't mean that KISS is from NY. Anyway, if there are any KISSologists out there who happen to know where the members are all from, I would appreciate it if you could help clear this up.

well It all started when Gene simmons(Guy with toung) ment Paul Stanley(starchild). They formed a band "wicked Lester." The Band never had there album released. Gene & Paul got Peter Criss as their Drummer and Ace Frehley as their lead Guitarist. They formed KISS!!! KISS's first concert was at the Covnetry in New York. The band is from Queens New York
There are alot of other technicalities but that's it in a nutshell RnR4 ever

Why do people answer a question with a bloody long anwser. The question is simple, so the answer should be simple, and not the history about KISS.

My vote is with you. As I know things, KISS was formed out of New York City in the early '70's (maybe '72 or '73).

They formed in NY. I can even recall them playing in some club in Amityville, Long Island, before they hit it big. Probably about 1973.
