Magnetic fields, The north pole is the positive polar field, and the south pole is the negative polar field. With out these we would not be able to determine direction on the the plants surface. Put as simple as possible, It's literally what makes the world as we know it tick, everything on this plant has a magnetic field some are stronger then others but we all have one you me and even the plants, flowers and birds. This is all caused by the magma in the earths core, the core is like lava turning and swirling around causing polar fields.
